Arrow Equestrian News

There is an exciting new arrival at Arrow Equestrian – the first Racewood Equine Simulator in the county! The simulator has been  custom  made  with a realistic  canter and gallop and a  head and neck  which moves with the stride. It has sensors on its sides and on the bit  so you can regulate the speed with your legs and reins or you can control it by  pressing the buttons on its shoulder.  The adjustable girth straps allow  you  to use any saddle, (dressage, jumping or racing) and it will carry  a vaulting roller – ideal for  improving suppleness, balance and confidence.

This is a fantastic teaching aid as the instructor can make “hands on” adjustment to rider’s positions while the simulator is moving. In addition, the video cameras set up around the horse enables you to see yourself  on the  TV monitor while you are riding.

Sue Nevill-Parker who owns Arrow Equestrian says:
“I find that canter is the best pace in which to learn how to achieve a balanced supple seat and to be able to keep cantering uninterrupted for as long as you like makes all the difference. The slowest pace is very relaxing and therapeutic and gives the novice rider a gentle introduction to canter. It is also useful for making fundamental changes to your riding before consolidating them at the faster speeds.  The middle pace is as close to a working canter as you can get without actually being on a real horse and is equally useful  for  dressage and  jumping.  The fastest pace is for racing or cross country and everyone who has tried it has found it challenging but exhilarating  – ideal for getting fit. Initial feedback has been overwhelmingly posiitive!”

The simulator is available for lessons (and for hire after an induction lesson)
