Working with the British Driving Society Inharness will be sponsoring a new championship class at Driving Addington which this year is being held on the 28th September.
The new championship is for registered Native Ponies* with four qualifying rounds being held at the BDS Annual Show, BDS Scottish Show, BDS Wales and BDS Northern Ireland Show. A fifth qualifier will be held at Driving Addington. Four ponies will qualify from each show with two places being allocated to Welsh ponies and two to non Welsh native breeds.
“We are delighted to be sponsoring this new championship for 2013 “ said Editor Sara Haines “With Inharness and sister magazine the Native Pony we will be working hard to promote the benefits of our wonderful native breeds as driving ponies. Many of them have driving as part of their heritage and driving can also offer a second career for a pony that has been outgrown as a riding pony. “
Richard Lanni, Chairman of the British Driving Society said : “We are very pleased to have Inharness Magazine on board as title sponsor of this new driving championship. We are looking forward to seeing as many of our native pony breeds represented at the Championship as possible; if you are new to driving or have a lovely native pony that you have not shown before I would encourage you to get in touch with your local BDS Area Commissioner who will be delighted to help you. ”
