British Dressage Area Festival to take place at Kings

Kings Equestrian are delighted to be running a BD Area Festival in October.  There will be 3 days of competition with Gala freestyle evenings on both the Friday and Saturday nights.  Spectators are welcome with free Admission. So what are BD area festivals?  

Petplan Equine Area Festivals are the perfect target for many BD riders looking to have a taste of the big time at a Championship event. 19 Festivals are held all over the UK from August to November each year with classes from prelim to prix st georges.

Qualifying

You can qualify from 01 January 2014 up until the closing date of the Petplan Equine Area Festival you want to enter.

Prelim
– You need three score sheets from BD affiliated shows with scores of 62% or above

If you’re not registered with BD, you can ride in non-qualifying Open prelim sections without affiliating to get your scores for an Area Festival until 1 June 2014. From that date, you and your horse will need to be Associate registered with BD. If you do qualify for a Petplan Equine Area Festival, you and your horse will need to become fully registered with BD to take part. Members of BD can use sheets from any prelim class towards Area Festival Qualification.

Novice and Elementary 
– You need three score sheets from BD affiliated shows with scores of 62% or above

If you’re not registered with BD, you can qualify on Class Tickets which register you and your horse for the class – you can buy these from the BD shop. If you do qualify for a Petplan Equine Area Festival, you and your horse will need to become fully registered with BD to take part.

Medium – Inter I
– You need two score sheets from BD affiliated shows with scores of 60% or above.

If you’re not registered with BD, you can qualify on Class Tickets which register you and your horse for the class – you can buy these from the BD shop. If you do qualify for a Petplan Equine Area Festival, you and your horse will need to become fully registered with BD to take part.
