Powys event rider Franky Reid-Warrilow had further success with Dolley Whisper when 4th in one of the 3 very competitive 2* CIC sections at Barbury International Horse Trials. All 3 sections were won by Kiwis with Andrew Nicholson heading one, Jesse Cambell another and Tim Price winning Franky’s section ahead of Aussie Christopher Burton in 2nd and NZ’s Sir Mark Todd 3rd. A clear XC inside the time ensured Franky 4th place despite one rail down SJ and she was best British rider. There were over 90 starters in each of the 2* sections.

In the strongly contested CIC 3*, it’s business as usual with Andrew Nicholson in the lead with Avebury, on a score of 33.6 looking for a fourth consecutive win. He’s also lying 3rd with Nereo, but snapping (nearish) his heels are Alex Hua Tian, Sir Mark Todd and Sarah Bullimore, with Herefordshire’s Louise Harwood up there too lying 6th before XC. Louise will no doubt be hoping for another good result here to strengthen her chance of being in the GB squad at Blair for the European Eventing Championships in September.
