Ridden Hunter Class

Question:

Hi Claire, I wondered if I could call upon your advice as I’m getting conflicting messages from friends! I’m hoping to embark on my first attempt at showing and have entered a ridden hunter class with a riding judge listed. To clarify does that mean I will not be expected to perform an individual show as the riding judge will do that, but will go round with the rest of the competitors and be expected to walk, trot and canter as a group??
Many thanks for your help!!

Answer from Claire:
Hi Susanne
If you have entered a ridden hunter class you usually enter the ring and the competitors are asked to walk, trot, canter and change the rein and then canter and lengthen the strides. Then you are pulled in an order and the ride judge will ride the horses and then stripped for confirmation.
Hope this helps and best of luck.
