Powys event rider Franky Reid-Warrilow with Dolley Whisper at the NAF International Horse Trials at Hartpury this year.

With one event to go in the 2017 FEI Nations Cup series, team GB excelled yet again with second place at Waregem. Powys event rider Franky Reid-Warrilow was best of the Brits individually, finishing in sixth place on Dolley Whisper who belongs to Franky, her parents Neil and Claire Reid-Warrilow and Bruce and Stephanie Gardiner.

The GB squad were just 8.5 penalties adrift of winners Germany with just one event remaining in the series.

The team representing Great Britain in Waregem included Franky, Sarah Bullimore riding her own, Christopher and Susan Gillespie’s Valentino V, Georgie Spence riding Mrs Suzanne Doggett and her own Halltown Harley and Harry Dzenis riding Mr Charles Macdonald’s Above Board. All four produced competitive dressage tests and clear XC jumping rounds and Franky, Sarah and Georgie with just four jumping faults in the influential show jumping phase a top 15 finish after each . Harry picked up eight faults from the show jumping and 16.4 time faults from the cross country to sit just outside the top 30.

Only ten points separate GB (590) and Germany (580) in the Nations Cup table, bringing the series down to the wire at the final event in Boekelo, Netherlands, on 5th – 8th October.
