The Flag Drops For The Welsh Border Area Point-to-Point Season At Last!

The Teme Valley Hunt & United Pack point-to-point race meeting at Brampton Bryan this Saturday (7th April) will at last get the Welsh Border season underway, and has attracted a very respectable 140 entries.
Clerk of the course, Wayne Tuffin, usually has to water the riverside course with millions of litres to provide the excellent going conditions that he is renowned for, and is relieved that the free-draining ground is working in his favour this year while many other fixtures waterlog.
The scenic course is the most historic one in the Welsh Border Area, retaining the traditional atmosphere of racing between the flags, and is popular with participants and spectators alike.
The seven race card, starting at 1.30pm, will be preceded by two competitive pony races at 12.30pm.
The beautiful Welsh Border course (SY7 0JT) can be found on the A4113 between Leintwardine and Knighton. Entry to the course is £10 per person, under 16’s and car parking free.
