Ludlow Point-to-Point This Saturday (28th)

The Ludlow Hunt point-to-point races at Bitterley (SY8 3HF) this Saturday (28th) have attracted 124 entries for the 7-race card, though there is a strong possibility that the JRL Group point-to-point Flat Race may be divided due to its popularity.

The course is fine fettle with an excellent covering of grass, and going is officially ‘Good to Soft’ (2pm, Monday 23rd).

The afternoon will include a £1200 Mixed Open Race over two and a half miles, which has attracted several entries from far afield, but the powerful local team of Phillip Rowley and Alex Edwards will be hoping to keep the silverware close, and add to Alex’s tally at the head of the Fullers Leading Rider Championship. The stable are indeed in great form, having sent out 6 winners last weekend.

Entrance to the popular course at Bitterley is £10 per person, under 16’s and car parking free. As always, there will be plenty to do between races. First race 1.30pm.

A fabulous day out for all the family in the splendour of the Shropshire countryside.
