Hereford Equestrian recommends that horse owners take advantage of the British Horse Society Livery Yard Agreement Form, available free of charge as a download from the BHS website. Livery yards are not required to hold a license, which means virtually anyone with stables and land can offer livery. Whilst the majority will offer a good if not excellent standard of care, there may be some which are inadequate. Make sure the livery yard has the facilities you require and that there is an obvious good standard of care and welfare of the horses at the yard.
