Harness Racing Near Ludlow

Harness racing under WBC rules moves from behind closed doors to gladly welcoming  spectators with a  fixture near Bitterley, Ludlow on Saturday, July 10th, which promises to be fast, furious and fun in the fresh air of the Shropshire countryside. Entries received mean there will be a minimum of nine races during the afternoon.

The feature race on the card, the Free For All, has been awarded a prize money bonus from STAGBI, the breed society, so competition will be fierce as the stars of the circuit, who had to miss a 2020 season, do battle and make up for lost time.

The popular meeting also boasts the first Saddle race of the season, and has been eagerly anticipated.

With the breath -taking scenery of Clee Hill as its backdrop, the track at Asbatch Farm (SY8 3HE) is a spectacular setting to watch the best horses on the WBC circuits.  There will be a bar, bookmakers and catering, providing for an excellent afternoon out, though Social Distancing is still required.

Racing begins at 1.30pm, and entrance to the track is £8 per person to include racecard, under 16’s and car parking free. Track and trace details will be gathered at the entrance, so please have  name and contact particulars on a piece of paper ready to hand over.

The Ludlow Trotting Association track is situated right on the side of the A4117 Kidderminster road, almost 2 miles from the junction with the A49.
