Beware – Bogus emails

When you place an advert on the website and include an email address, you may receive bogus/scam emails from people showing interest in your horse or item.  The emails are very strange and you should be able to see straight away that they aren’t genuine.  Here is an example of an email being sent at present:

“How are you doing ,

My name is Benjamin Garry

Am writing you to know that I would like you to kindly email me with more information of your horse for sale on herefordequestrian.

I would be glad to read from you if only you still have the horse for sale and then email me with the following

.The pet name you call the horse

.How much is your last price

.When was the horse last vet checked

.What food do you feed the horse.

Thank you and waiting to read from you with the necessary information.

Benjamin.”

When you place a classified ad on this site using the ‘Place an ad’ form (linked from the classified ads page) there is a warning re the possible implications of including your email address and you have the option of contacting the website to have your email address removed from the advert. Some sellers do take this option, while others are confident and happy to  ‘weed’ out the non-genuine replies.  If you receive an email which looks ‘dodgy’, please do forward it to me. sally@herefordequestrian.co.uk
