GB Pony Teams excelling

You could almost claim the GB pony event team as our local team and they’re doing well, so fingers crossed for a team gold out in Malmo, Sweden! Following dressage and xc, the GB team were in silver medal position so will be hoping for a clean sheet to hold or improve on their position, but overnight team GB have taken the lead as one of the previously leading French team will not start SJ today and that has moved all the riders up a place individually too. The GB team comprises Shrophire’s Thomas Tulloch now lying 4th going into the show jumping, Worcestershire’s Saffron Cresswell lying 6th, Somerset’s Phoebe Locke 11th and Derbyshire’s Harriet Wright 17th. Herefordshire’s Phoebe Nicholson is representing GB as an individual and is lying 12th after a fault free xc round while Jess Thomas from Cheshire, also riding as an individual is lying 25th. Thomas Tulloch will be hoping for a clear round show jumping to give himself a great chance of an individual medal while 3 good rounds from team GB will keep them in the medals and hopefully Gold!

The GB Pony Dressage and Show jumping teams have already won team golds out in Malmo, with dressage superstar Phoebe Peters winning individual gold too in her last year in ponies.
