Local business reaches national awards finals

Barnstormers Equestrian, in Withington, Herefordshire, has reached the national finals of the 2014 British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) Business Awards for Best Tack Shop (Small category). The winner will be announced at a Gala Dinner later this month.

“We’re delighted to have reached the finals of such a prestigious award, particularly as we were nominated by our customers,” said Colin of Barnstormers. “In the best traditions of a specialist retailer, we always endeavour to offer a personal yet professional service – and it’s satisfying to know that our efforts have been rewarded.”

As part of the final judging, trade suppliers have been asked to add their votes to those of customers.  There will also be a series of mystery shoppers and incognito telephone calls to the short-listed candidates.

“There were more than 2,500 nominations for the SEIB Retailer of the Year Award, so many congratulations go to Barnstormers for reaching the finals,” said BETA executive director Claire Williams.

“We encourage the highest standards in equestrian retailing, enabling horse owners and riders to shop with confidence where they see the BETA sign.”

Barnstormers have great customer service and always give good advise. They stock a range of products at reasonable prices, because of the friendly welcome I always shop there although it’s a little out of my way.

Really nice to read this, they definitely deserve it. I’ve shopped with them for a number of years and always receive a friendly, professional service. I often go out of my way to shop with them over other retailers because I can guarantee a friendly welcome and a fair price.
