Welfare

The British Horse Society, in conjunction with the British Equestrian Federation’s Welfare Group, has launched a voluntary code of practice to set out acceptable welfare standards for horses at shows and events. The Code was devised as a result of the number of concerns reported to the BHS Welfare Department regarding the treatment of horses at shows, and feedback from show organisers who often feel unable to act when welfare breaches are reported to them. The Midland Racehorse Care Centre

We're based in Shrophsire, Ludlow and are a registered charity 1115226 - the first charity of its kind in the Midlands dedicated to the welfare of ex-racehorses. We take in horses, that have given the best years of their life to racing, and retrain and rehome them. Here ex-racehorses are still winners! We are always here to offer advice or to help Thoroughbreds that are out on a limb.

EMW - Equine Market Watch

EMW-UK and EMW-Sanctuaries began in a modest way 30 years ago when two like-minded women, Elaine Tasker and, co-founder and good friend, Soibhan Lord, decided there was a need to monitor auctions and markets and report back to the public on what happened at these venues.
