Horse v Man competition to raise money for St Michaels Hospice. It will take place at Callow Hereford. It will involve 15 miles of off road riding with optional jumps (for the riders) and water along beautiful Herefordshire countryside. You can opt to complete the whole 15 miles or do 1 lap of 7.5 miles with another rider (or runner) completing another 7.5 miles. There will be more details to follow shortly. |

UCSW Seminar on African Horse Sickness at the Three Counties Hotel, Hereford. The Union of Country Sports Workers is organising an evening seminar on the killer horse disease, African Horse Sickness. Dr Richard Newton*, Head of Equine Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance at the Animal Health Trust, will be talking on the clinical signs, epidemiology and vectors of African Horse Sickness followed by questions and answers. The second half of the evening will consider the contingency planning and methods of control for AHS should it arrive in the UK.

10 mile route with spectacular views taking in part of the Black Mountain. Escorted horse hire available. Refreshments on site and rosettes for all entrants.
First riders out at 9.30am. Last riders at 12.30pm.
A Thanksgiving of the Horse to be conducted by the Rev Roger Taylor will take place at 12 Noon. All welcome. Plenty of parking for boxes and trailers.
