Showing my Welsh Section D Yearling

Question:
Hello,
I’m going to be showing my welsh section D yearling gelding in a couple of weeks, and have decided to try out the “ridden pony/working hunter youngstock” class.. I was wondering if his mane needs to be plaited? I’ve plaited him up a couple of times for practice, but as he has a long welshie mane, this makes it quite difficult. (And don’t want to pull as not sure how short it can be for M&M classes)
Would it be acceptable to do a tight running plait with his forelock and tail done?
Thanks for any help!!
Sian

Answer from Claire:

In reply to your question you do not plait your yearlings mane or tail.  His mane has to be natural but tidy.  The ears can be trimmed with small clippers and whiskers on the nose and under his chin as well.

Good luck
