The only business to win two categories in the 2017 Shropshire Business Awards comes from the equestrian sector: Stallion AI Services convinced the jurors in the International Trade, as well as in the Technology Enterprise and Innovation awards category.

Under the leadership of Tullis Matson, Stallion AI Services has blossomed into the largest and most advanced stallion semen collection and freezing centre in the UK, enjoying a reputation for global leadership in technology advancement.

In recent years, the business has made a significant £1.5 million investment in its centre, with a state-of-the-art laboratory and tailor made facility placing it at the forefront of semen freezing and evaluation technology worldwide.

Tullis Matson explains:

“We are passionate investors in excellence. Our strive for perfection is far from over, as we develop new technologies and procedures to continue to improve semen quality.”

Standing international superstar stallions like Big Star, Arko, Ramiro B and Cassionato, Stallion AI Services distributes semen across the globe and brings the very best of British breeding to audiences worldwide.

Tullis Matson explains:

“International trade lies at the centre of our vision for the future of the British breeding industry. It is our aim to bring the very best of British stallions to breeders everywhere in the world.”

The 2017 Shropshire Business Awards are presented by the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the best of Shropshire’s businesses. Now in its 17th year, the awards are open to all businesses in Shropshire, regardless of size, type of business or length of operation. For 2017, there were 12 awards. It is a great boost for Stallion AI Services and the wider equine business community to see an equestrian business recognised in this way.
