Charity Race in Aid of Hospice

On Tuesday 26th March, the race meeting at Hereford, supported by the Clive and Sylvia Richards Charity, was in aid of St Michael’s Hospice with over £47k raised during the day. But over £30k of that total was raised by the amateur jockeys riding in the charity race held at the end of the day.

Twelve riders lined up including racehorse trainer Kerry Lee who not only provided 4 horses for the race but also rode in the race. Each of the amateur jockeys had to raise at least £1500 to take part with many of them exceeding that figure. However, it was International event rider Louise Harwood from Eardisley who won riding St Gallen from Olly Murphy Racing and in second place David Dennis who was deputising for Nana Dalton who sadly missed the race having been taken ill on the day.

The 12 riders entered for the race were: Justin Bond, Joanne Bowkett, Anita Cook, Nana Dalton (substituted by David Dennis), Jordan Devlin, Louise Harwood, Kerry Lee, Kate Mills, Ireland Pearson, Belinda Rose, Jessica Short and Lucy Worrall
