Piggy French celebrates winning the 2019 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials

Badminton Horse Trials is over for another year, won by the immensely popular and humble Piggy French. It was an epic event with excitement to the very last seconds of the competition as Oliver Townend, leader throughout the event, added an extremely costly 1.6 time penalties to his show jumping round allowing Piggy French to win her first Badminton. It’s an end of an era too with this being the last year with Mitsubishi Motors sponsorship.

Worcestershire event rider Nicky Hill riding MGH Bingo Boy had a fantastic first Badminton coming 18th and winning 3 trophies – The Silver Jubilee Plate for best Owner/Rider, the Laurence Rook Trophy for the Best British Rider not previously competed Badminton and the Cotswold Life Trophy for being the best local Rider.

Herefordshire’s Louise Harwood, competing on the huge scopey Balladeer Miller Man, completed but had a difficult time in the dressage when Balladeer Miller Man took exception to seeing himself on the big screen.
