Stallion AI Services are delighted to be the first Shropshire based company, and – above all – the first equine business in Britain to receive the Small Business of the Year Award for the Chamber of Commerce West Midlands Region, thus reaching the National Finals.
In a move that at the same time recognises excellence in Britain’s equine industry, and Stallion AI Services’ global leadership and contribution to equine breeding, the company was selected from hundreds of entries across nine business categories, and will now go on to the finals to battle it out for the national title in the small business category. This puts Stallion AI Services in the running for the Business of the Year Award and with it the accolade of opening the London Stock Exchange when The Chamber of Commerce launches the 2018 programme on the 1st March 2018.
The National winners will be announced at a Gala Awards Dinner on Thursday 30th November at the Brewery, London.
It has been a whirlwind journey for Stallion AI Services, which has grown into the UK’s largest stallion centre with an international reputation for technology and innovation.
Following a £1.5m investment in a world-leading state-of-the art facility for semen collection, freezing and worldwide export, Stallion AI Services are a small company with a global outlook and a passionate commitment to excellence. The only business to win two categories in the 2017 Shropshire Business Awards in International Trade and in Technology Enterprise and Innovation, and winners of the Shropshire Star Excellence in Business Awards in Agricultural, Food & Farming and Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year, the company is proud of bringing global leadership in semen technology advancement and research to rural Shropshire.
Founder Tullis Matson describes the company philosophy:
“Our strive for perfection is far from over, as we develop new technologies and procedures to continue to improve semen quality. In a nutshell, we are all about making the impossible possible.”
Standing international superstar stallions like Big Star, Arko, Ramiro B and Cassionato, Stallion AI Services distributes semen across the globe and brings the very best of British breeding to audiences worldwide.
Tullis Matson explains:
“International trade lies at the centre of our vision for the future of the British breeding industry. It is our aim to bring the very best of British stallions to breeders everywhere in the world.”
The company combines its passion for pushing the boundaries for the very top of the international equestrian sport with a strong ethical commitment, exploring ever new ways of using technological advancement to aid the survival of the world’s rarest and most endangered species, securing bio-diversity and preserving their gene pool for future generations.
From the Queen’s Highland Stallion Balmoral Lord to the Eriskay ponies, of which only a handful remain, Stallion AI Services has become a hub for the collection and freezing of some of our most beloved traditional native breeds to secure their future survival and ensure their continued presence in Britain.
