Meg Smith from Newent, Nat Gilder from Stoke Orchard and Josh Smith from Tirley are currently on tour in South Africa representing the UK as members of the UK Under 19 Polocrosse team. Josh and Nat are both members of the Ledbury Hunt Pony Club while Meg is a former member. They were all initially encouraged to play by Jan Whitehead.
7 girls and 7 boys from across the UK were picked for the 2 week tour. Horses will be provided from a pool provided by the South Africans before they compete in the 3 test matches between 13th & 15th July. The tour is completely self-funded so each player has been busy trying to raise sponsorship and general fundraising.
