Should Off-Roading On Green Lanes Be Allowed To Continue?

Patricia Stubbs for Peak Horsepower bridleway group has recently been in touch to draw our attention to the questions about off-roading in the government’s consultation on the Glover landscapes review. The government is asking whether off-roading on green lanes should be allowed to continue.

Green lanes are either Byways open to all Traffic or unsealed county roads shown as ORPAs on the OS map.

It is clear from the consultation that the government is considering new legislation to restrict or stop off-roading. This is a huge breakthrough. It opens the prospect of restoring access and safe use of green lanes by riders and carriage drivers.

Please consider taking part in the consultation and calling for an end to off-roading on green lanes.

The government response to the Glover review and the online questionnaire are at Government response to the Landscapes Review – Defra – Citizen Space . The questions on off-roading on green lanes are numbers 13 to 17. The consultation closes on 9 April.

Thank you for your support.
