HM The Queen 1926 – 2022

Along with millions of people around the world, I was deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty the Queen. Unlike many, I didn’t have the privilege of meeting the Queen….my closest encounter was standing outside the gates of Balmoral a few years ago and being told that the Queen was walking her beloved dogs in the grounds. And standing in the crowd when the then Prince Charles and Diana stood on the balcony of Buckingham Palace following their marriage. But I didn’t need to meet her to know that she was the most extraordinary woman and touched the hearts of so many. Every Christmas her broadcast brought tears to my eyes as did every jubilee celebration. The platinum jubilee, just a few weeks ago, was especially poignant as it felt like thank you and goodbye.  I can only echo all that has been said by the many people who have so articulately expressed their thoughts and thanks to Her Majesty. And as for Paddington Bear…. he will now always be synonymous with our wonderful Queen. Rest in peace Your Majesty, reunited again with your beloved husband Philip.
